Introduction

The Directorate General of Medical Education under Medical Education & Family Welfare division of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Bangladesh has announced 2024 admission of other countries students in Medical and Dental Colleges under government administration for the academic year 2023-2024.. The number of seats are allocated for the foreign students this year is 221. Among these 117 seats are allocated for SAARC countries, 99 seats are allocated for non-SAARC countries and 5 reserved seats, under Bangladesh Government's scholarship program. Every Country seat allocation are as follows:

Besides seeking admission to Government Medical/Dental Colleges, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare also entertains applications from foreign students for enrollment in Private Medical Colleges, Dental Colleges, and Dental Units in Bangladesh. The details regarding Government and Private Medical Colleges, as well as Dental Colleges and Dental Units, along with the availability of seats, are provided in Annexure 'A' and 'B' respectively. Private Medical Colleges are permitted to allocate a maximum of 45% of their total seats to foreign students.The criteria and application procedures for foreign students can be found in Annexure 'C' and 'D'.

Eligibility Criteria for Bangladesh mbbs scholarship for Pakistani student

Criteria for Admission of Foreign Students in the MBBS and BDS Courses in Government Medical Colleges/Dental Colleges/Dental Units in Bangladesh for 2023-2024 academic year.

A) Equivalence of Foreign Degree:

Must have passed qualifying examination of A' level or equivalent examination.

O' level or equivalent examination must be passed in 2020 not before 2020.

A' level or equivalent examination must be passed in 2022 not before 2022.

A' level or equivalent exam must be completed within 2 years of O' level or equivalent exam.

The admission policy for the MBBS/BDS course in 2024, as outlined, will be applicable for foreign students seeking admission in Bangladesh.

Minimum aggregate GPA in O' level or equivalent and A' level or equivalent examination: 8.00 (eight).

Minimum GP in Biology: 3.50 out of 5.0 scale in A' level or equivalent exam.

For admission in Government Medical Colleges/Dental Colleges/Dental Units Applicants must have at least aggregated GPA 8.0 (Eight) in O' level and A' level exam of individual GPA 5 (Five) scale and A cumulative GPA of 7.0 (Seven) on the individual GPA scale of 5 (Five) in both O' level and A' level exams is a prerequisite for admission to Private Medical/Dental Colleges/Dental Units, with a minimum GPA of 3.50 in Biology in A level/12 class completion equivalent examination is also required in both instances.

For calculating GPA against the percentage of marks obtained in O' level or other equivalent exam only top 5 subjects are considered.

B) For calculation of GPA against the marks obtained in A' level or equivalent exam, only 3 subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) are considered.

Application Form: Duly filled online application forms in specific template and upload the stated above by 29 February 2024.

All certificates should undergo proper attestation by the competent authorities, namely the Education and Foreign Ministries of the respective countries. Applicants need not require submitting the hard copies of relevant documents to the Embassy/High Commission.

Eligible applicants have to produce all academic certificates, admit cards and mark- sheets/ transcripts in original at the time of their admission.

C) Tuition Fees: Students from SAARC countries enrolling in Government medical and dental colleges will be charged tuition and other fees at the same rate applied to Bangladeshi students. Students from other countries will have to pay $5000 (five thousand) per year in addition to the tuition fees charged for Bangladeshi student. Additional charges must be paid if students fail to pass the exam within the stipulated time.

D) Each applicant must send USS 100.00 (One Hundred) as non-refundable equivalence fee by Telegraphic Transfer (T. T)/SWIFT Code through.

E) Only online Applications will be accepted. The admission policy for foreign students seeking enrollment in Bangladesh for the MBBS/BDS course of 2024 will be applicable.

How to Apply for Bangladesh mbbs scholarship for Pakistani student

Interested candidates have to submit an online application from 05.01.2024 only through http://foreignstudents.dgme.gov.bd/login, website: www.dgme.gov.bd. Submission of a hard copy of the application to Bangladesh foreign missions abroad is not required. The deadline for online application submission is February 29, 2024, for both Government and Private Medical Colleges/Dental Colleges/Dental Units. No applications will be considered after the specified deadline.

Candidates are required to upload a recent passport-size photograph, passport, and all academic documents, including certificates and mark sheets from O' level/10th class completion equivalent examination, as well as A' level/12th class completion equivalent examination. and copy of Telegraphic Transfer (T.T)/SWIFT Message of USD 100$ (One Hundred US Dollar) in specific template of each online application. All academic documents submitted must be attested by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the respective countries. Following the online application submission through the designated platform, candidates are required to obtain a system-generated printed copy of the application form. Eligible applicants must then submit the attested documents to the Bangladesh mission in order to obtain the visa.

Note: Candidates must submit individual and separate online applications for Government medical colleges, private medical colleges, Government dental colleges, and private dental colleges.

The decision of admission committee (2023-2024) will be final in any matter for admission in medical college/dental college/units in Bangladesh.
